Pathways

Pathways, 1.99(yeah that’s it!), is made by Conniption Entertainment; which is the company of an upcoming game, tomorrow, which is called Zombie Invasion; here’s the press release:

Conniption Entertainment to release Zombie Invasion for iPhone on Halloween
SAN DIEGO, CALIF., October 24, 2008 – Conniption Entertainment announces a new action packed shooter game, Zombie Invasion, to be released on Halloween.

PREVIEW INFORMATION

Synopsis
A quaint small town is about to be invaded by zombies – YOU must defend the townsfolk before it’s too late!

Some Game Highlights
The game situates the player on the bottom of the screen, with an arsenal of weapons to pick off zombies before they make it to the town to devour anyone and everyone in their path.

“Game play was extremely important to us when designing this game; it’s not just another one of those ‘tap the screen until your finger falls off’ shooters,” said Paul Seltmann, CTO of Conniption Entertainment

The graphics are rich, with 3D rendered zombies that look absolutely amazing during game play. The graphics are a very different style from our last game release, Pathways.

The sound is original and professionally written, just like in Pathways.

The release date is Halloween (10/31/08).

The release price is $0.99.

Please contact Michael Seltmann with any questions, interview requests, or comments.

So anyway, onto Pathways, it’s a great puzzle game where there’s a neat little story and your trying to rescue Eddie. To get there, Tommie, the main character, has to go through many different puzzles. To complete these levels you have to make all the platforms disappear and get to the door at the end of the level. Now, I have a cheat code to it, but I can;t let you know it, so I have had the ability to play any level I want without beating them all. So, onto the gameplay! So what you do is tap to the left, right, above or below to go right left up or down, respectively. So if the platform has no number on it, you go onto it once and it disappears, if it has 2 then twice and it disappears, 3 and 3 times until it disappears, and 4 and 4 times until it disappears; here on level 74, there’s a little of everything, can you figure out how to do it? =]

I did =]

Oh yeah and if the block has an arrow it slides the way the arrow is pointing as much as i can until it hits a block once you step on it.

-Pros

Total classic puzzle game

A lot, I mean a lot of levels

Addicting

Story line

There’s a cheat code!

Really Quite Fun

Awesome music!

-Cons

Sometimes when you tap to the left or right it keeps going down(this has only happened once)

Not the greatest graphics

Some of the levels take a while, but are easy and straight-forward

A definite buy, so go buy it!

1026 Developement

1026 Developemant today is having a massive sale where all there games are free today, and today only. They’re doing this because today is 10/26, national their developemant day. Here are what I think of some of their games:

iDice

It’s pretty fun, it’s a yahtsee game( I think there’s a spelling error there ). It does everything for the game. It’s kind of plain tough; the dice should move, have some animation but they don’t, shake to roll would be nice, also suggested things to pick would be nice.

-Pros
Yahtsee
Free for today
-Cons
No animation or flash

Overall it’s a 3 out of five for a paid app, but for free it’s 4 out of 5.

Sumcession

It’s fun and addicting. You have to have the numbers that you tap add up to the appointed number, but you also have to end up on a certain number. Much better graphics than iDice; much funner.

-Pros
Multiple Levels
Starts east but then gets hard
Better Graphics
Simple and great
Not too big of a download
-Cons
Not a lot of levels
Not very much sound, music would be nice
Once again more animation needed
A timer with highscores would make it more exciting

Light Show

A nice classic game. You put little colored pegs into 200 some slots to make pictures. Nice for if your board an just want a nice little thing to do.

-Pros
Classic
A lot of different choices of pictures to make
Nice simple light and to the point
-Cons
You can’t drag your fingers to put in the colors, you have to do it individually

Overall 4 out of 5

I’m going to keep sumcession and light show on my iPod, and iDice in my iTunes library in case 1026 updates it.

Made with light show, will rotate when I get on my computer, I’m on my iPod right now

Fuzzle

Fuzzle, 1.99 or a free lite edition, is a neat little puzzle game. I had a game like this on my trèo before I got my touch. Your objective is to make as many pairs of five of one color as you can. Some colors come out and then you drag one to a new location and 3 or 4 more come out depending on how much time you spent deciding what to move where. There are rainbow dots which can be used as any color, and bomb dots which when used take out every dot of the color used with the bomb off the board, very useful.

-Pros
Easy interface
Easy gameplay
Easy to learn techniques
-Cons
A little dry of a game, a mode should be added to have more better ovjectives and more restrictions(like in Trism how there’s a golf type one, and in geomex how there’s different modes including puzzle mode)

Overall 3.5 out of 5; if the more gamemodes were added then it’s be a 4.5 out of 5

Guitarist Update Coming

So, there I was browsing some posts on mac rumors forums, forums.macrumors.com, and I saw that moocowmusic(the creator of Guitarist) made a post telling about an update that’s coming, and a youtube video link on the update, it looks pretty nice:

Guitarist – Huge new update – Demo video
A huge new update for Guitarist is about to drop in the App Store.
Changes are:-

Bend notes by dragging individual strings just like a real guitar
- Bend by a whole or semi tone.
- Perform double stop bends.
- Bend one note of a chord.
- Create a vibrato effect by rapidly bending and unbending the string.
- See the strings visibly move as you drag them up and down.
- Record all bends into a song, save it for posterity and later play it back exactly as you played it.

A Whammy Bar playable using the accelerometer
- Tilt the iPhone to the left to bend all playing notes down, and to the right to bend up.
- Create a dive bomb effect.
- Perform crazy pitch effects while playing.
- Record all whammy bar actions into your song and play them back later.

A Wah-Wah effect playable using the accelerometer
- Tilt the iPhone back and forward just like tilting the Wah-Wah pedal.
- Add increadible expression to your solos.
- Record all wah-wah actions into your song and play them back later.

Define the number of visible frets
- Due to a common user-request for either more or sometime less frets, you can now select the number of frets to display from three (allowing you to more easily play with the iPhone cradled in your left hand just like a guitar neck) to ten (allowing you to play more complex songs without having to traverse up and down the fretboard so much).

A new icon
- Again, a number of people complained about the old icon. I wanted to hold back on changing it (which required a complete update) until I had finished some of the cool features I’ve been working on. Hope this one is more appealing.

Those of you who already purchased Guitarist will get the update for free. Those who haven’t made up their minds over whether to purchase Guitarist should take a look at the YouTube demo video below (and keep watching as I saved the best till last).
