iRealSMS

iRealSMS is a jailbroken only app that can replace the built in SMS app! It adds many new features, as well as enhances a few.

To start off, you can view each SMS individually rather than in conversations. You can create drafts and templates as well. But, you can also view in conversations, which I like better. Under the conversations tab you can view it like it is in the built in SMS app or have a different theme which gives you a few more options. These options include quick reply within the window, a new window to reply, forward, and blacklist. Speaking of blacklist, you can blacklist certain numbers or contacts, or messages! It’s a very nice feature. You can have it autodelete the blacklisted messages. You can search through your SMS by the name of a person or the content in a message. And there are two unique things called quickreply and quick send. But we’ll get to that later. You can make the iRealSMS app your default SMS app, and you can also run it in the background so that it opens quicker. You can have it show an icon in the statusbar when you have a new SMS and you can password protect the app.

Quickreply and quicksend:

These features are where you get an SMS and the you don’t have to quit an app to reply, or if you want to send an SMS you don’t have to quit the app to send. Rather than the normal popup when you get an SMS you get a different one whereas the keyboard pops up and you can reply or call the person that sent you the text. Quicksend works when you either press volume up, you press volume up and then you touch the icon that appears, or you double tap the home button. I personally use volume up with touch.

I highly suggest this app if you text a lot. If you don’t text a lot, don’t worry about it. But if you do, it makes replying and sending much better. I don’t use the built in app really, just the quickreply and quicksend.

Zymblog Down!

Something weird happened on the servers, but now were back up and running. Look for reviews of iRealSMS, HapticPro, and Sygic Maps in the future. But first, we have to stabilize the site!

G-Map Updated!

Ever since 3.0 the iPhone can now be a fully functional GPS app, right? Well yes theres many out there, and Tom Tom is coming, but one of the cheapest ones is G-Map! The company has now made individual apps for different states as well, rather than just one app for the east U.S. and one for the west. First off, in the new version, you can zoom in and out, which is much appreciated by me! =]

G-Map: Positives!
G-Map includes hundreds of POI’s as well as the ability to input an address to go to. It calculates the route pretty quickly, and creates the best route possible. It includes route preview, both visual where as you can watch where you go, and written, where as you can read where you go. You can put in a waypoint, or detour into the routes incase theres construction, or you wwant to stop off to McDonalds on your way to work =D. There are never any skips or freezes in your current location. The app overall never crashes and is very stable. If you exit the app, your route is saved, so when you enter back into the app, all you have to do is go to view the map, and it’ll prompt you whether or not you want to pick that route up again.

Turn by turn Navigation!
In the newest version there is now voice prompts to tell you when to turn, or merge, or how far you have to go. I have to say the voice guidance is awesome! One thing I wish you could do is customize when it tells you what. Like how far away from a turn, etc. Also, customizing the voice would be cool too!

Negatives
This app is great, and well worth the money, but there are a few things that aren’t deal breakers that I’d like to see.
I’d like more customization! I’d like to be able to change the current location icon, and the different icons for POI. Oh yeah and customizing the voice guidance.
More POI! In my town the POI aren’t very updated.

Overall, I have to say if you need a GPS system this could definately work! Only 20 bucks for the per state apps, and 35 for half the country! It’s well worth the money people so get buying at this link! images

Reviews:Iron Site, Quickoffice and Docs to go

Hey everyone! It’s been a while! Well my summers been fantastic!

Now onto the reviews.
IronSite:
This is a 3D iShoot game. Yeah it sounds cool and all, but I didn’t find it nearly as entertaining. It seems much harder. You get 3 “tanks” and the other team gets three “tanks.” You go onto different levels with different 3D landscapes whereas you play. The game just seems much drier than iShoot, just in my opinion.

Quickoffice:
Quickoffice was the first Microsoft word editing solution. I have to say I did end up writing 2.5 pages on here with it. Sometimes the keyboard lags, but that got better in the last update. Sometimes it inseerts two spaces rather than one, which is pretty annoying. I haven’t really tried out the excel support, but with what Ive done with it it was pretty nice (:.

DocsToGo:
Docstogo was the next word editing solution for the iPhone. It has many more features and has less lag and doesn’t have the space issue. Although I haven’t gotten as much use out of it, I still feel it is better.

Look for more reviews to come! :D
